Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Julia Fona Roberts is the 4th generation Roberts living in Atlanta. Early in his life the father of her mother became obsessed by the acting. When he was an undergraduate at Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. After he enlisted in the Air force, he appeared with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year. Walter attended Tulane University at New Orleans in the year 1957, after they had separated from the Air Force of the United States. Walter was recruited by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to assist on the stage of the television show Bum Bum His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the children's local Saturday morning show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. They established an Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It was in operation for a period of 6 years. In 1965, they welcomed two children to the family: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
