Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 in the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi who was the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became her coach in later years found her around the age of six. Her first competitive event was the National Junior Championships where she placed 13th in 1969. In 1970, she was crowned champion. The first time she competed in an international event that was a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975 she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. In her very first competition at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals, as well with one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in dismounting from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen she began her career in the entertainment industry performing as figure skater. Together with her brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's career began in entertainment during her teenage year. She started her career as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
